Sore Throat Symptoms - First Look
Often times identifying a mild to serious sore throat from any non-usual throat infection could be a little confusing. Some of the symptoms are solely associated with all types of sore throats.
Tenderness and pain in the throat:
As the sore throat develops, there could be an increased pain in the back of the throat. This pain is usually accompanied by mild to severe tenderness and is considered one of the coresore throat symptoms. Both factors get relatively more disturbing when one eats something (rough, hard food particles in particular, or wakes up after a long sleep.) The hurting and tenderness could be the case even in the mildest of the sore throats- if it is a serious one, there is high probability that you may experience exceedingly annoying itching and the tenderness would reach down the entire neck. In case of a sore throat, gargling with salty warm water should bring the ease in two to three days depending upon the intensity of the soreness.
Mild to severe fever:
Fever is one of the most occurring symptoms of sore throat. This necessarily does not need to be on a higher side but something near about 100 degrees on a mercury thermometer could be associated with the sore throat as well. In fact the higher the temperature goes, the higher the need to consult a doctor is- as there are probabilities that the high fever has not come about as a result of sore throat, but some other cause. One good way to determine that whether or not, is the fever a result of sore throat is to make sure that there is some tenderness and pain in the throat. This is because the former symptom is almost bound to happen in any of the sore throats be it mild or serious- thus an accompanying fever could be related to sore throat signs as well.
Common flu:
Influenza is another of the sore throat symptomwidely reported. Nose may remain filled over all the time and may even keep on running, pretty annoyingly. Taking medications for flu here would not come effectual and necessary treatment for sore throat could only bring complete ease (treatment via home remedies or medications). Eventually, in case of a serious sore throat the nose could get scratchy, irritating and red.
Common weakness and feeling “low in energy”:
This is yet another of most common sore throat symptoms. Not quite astonishingly, all that soreness, tenderness, pain, fever, cough and flu. This is why rest is recommended to further pace up the healing and the recovery period of the sore throat. Some people may also feel exhausted, or “short in breath” to be specific. Taking energy pills here too would not come any effectual, and the treatment for the root cause if all you could manage to do.
If any of the above-mentioned symptoms of sore throat takes serious form, it is highly recommended that you seek medical consultation. Just to be on a safer side.
